Category Manager

Overijssel - Netherlands - Industry - High Tech - Cost Control & Procurement - Professional Bachelor

As Category Manager you are part of the Netherlands Procurement team as well as the Global Category team. You are responsible for managing a dedicated Work Package consisting of a large subsystem within the segment B ‘System & Equipment’ for the German project.

Pro-actively and in close alignment with the PPM (Procurement Project Manager) organization and GCM (Global Category Manager) organization you are responsible to close the contract for a dedicated Work Package within the project in line with the business needs and coherent with the strategy defined by the GCM for the world wide Category.

You lead the cross functional team between Procurement, Engineering, Legal and Finance. You closely align with other Category Managers and Buyers within the project to optimize over the various Work Packages.

Managing internal and external stakeholders is key in building close relations with your suppliers in order to make supplier knowledge and competitiveness available to the benefit of products and services.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Shape, communicate and steer implementation of the negotiation strategy.
    Drive negotiation and contracting of suppliers;
  • Build and strengthen relation with suppliers;
  • Lead the team responsible for the Work Package;
  • Inform and report to stakeholders;
  • Create value and reduce risk in cooperation with the suppliers and stakeholders.

About you

  • Strong negotiation skills;
  • Able to build good relationships with external and internal stakeholders;
  • Experience with relation contracting is a strong plus;
  • Able to oversee and value interests in a broad perspective;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Creative and solution oriented;
  • A decisive and stress resistant finisher;
  • Fluent in English and German;
  • Relevant strategic;
  • Procurement or commercial experience;
  • Completed relevant higher education;
  • Affinity with high tech business.
